Dom Dolla to Headline New Zealand’s Largest Electronic Music Event on Waitangi Day

Dom Dolla has announced a massive Auckland Domain takeover set to make electronic music history in New Zealand.

On February 6, 2027, one of electronic music’s most in-demand artists, Dom Dolla, will take over Auckland Domain for what is being billed as the largest electronic music event in New Zealand’s history.

The landmark event will mark Dom Dolla’s first standalone, full-scale headline production in New Zealand. The show will take place at Auckland Domain, Auckland’s oldest park and one of the city’s most prominent public spaces, which is expected to welcome tens of thousands of fans for the massive open-air event.

The date itself carries additional significance. February 6 is Waitangi Day, New Zealand’s national day and a public holiday observed annually across the country. It commemorates the first signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, or the Treaty of Waitangi, in 1840 between Māori rangatira and representatives of the British Crown. Considered a foundational document of modern New Zealand, the Treaty and its legacy remain deeply significant to the country and Māori-Crown relations.

Holding a dance music event of this scale at Auckland Domain on a national holiday speaks not only to electronic music’s continued rise into the mainstream, but also to the enormous weight a single DJ can now carry. One of Auckland’s most prominent public spaces will essentially be transformed into a massive open-air dancefloor around one artist’s name.

For Dom Dolla, commanding a crowd of this size is no longer uncharted territory. The Australian producer has continued to establish himself as a stadium-level electronic act, including a sold-out debut stadium performance at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium. He has also sold out two headline shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, further demonstrating his ability to draw massive crowds outside of the traditional festival environment.

His connection with New Zealand has already been tested on a major scale. Dom Dolla headlined Electric Avenue in Christchurch in February 2026, performing at the sold-out festival in front of tens of thousands of attendees. The response ultimately helped inspire his return for an even bigger standalone show.

During an interview with George FM Breakfast, the Grammy-nominated artist reflected on his Electric Avenue performance and the impact of seeing the crowd afterward.

“I remember getting goosebumps looking back at the videos, and that doesn’t always happen,” Dom Dolla said. “I said to my team, ‘We’ve got to do a big greenfield site show ASAP.’”

Less than a year later, that vision is becoming a reality.

Presale tickets for Dom Dolla’s Auckland Domain show will become available Wednesday, August 26, 2026, followed by the general public on Thursday, August 27. The event is strictly 18+.
