Camp Alderwild launches new fund to protect Colorado’s wild side
As fans gather in one of Colorado’s most beloved mountain towns to celebrate music, culture, and the outdoors, Camp Alderwild is turning that connection to the mountains into something that extends well beyond the festival grounds.
Building on years of environmental giving, Of The Trees‘ festival—Camp Alderwild—has launched the Alderwild Nature Fund, a new partnership with PLUS1 that will make conservation a continuing part of the festival experience. Through the fund, $1 from every Camp Alderwild ticket will support organizations working to protect Colorado‘s natural lands.
The launch builds on Camp Alderwild’s previous environmental efforts rather than marking the beginning of its charitable work. Between 2024 and 2025, those efforts generated more than $55,000 in donations and drove more than 47,000 actions supporting environmental causes and organizations, including the Sierra Club Foundation, National Park Foundation, Environment America, and Telluride Mountain Club.

Now, the Alderwild Nature Fund gives those efforts a dedicated structure and a long-term path forward. Rather than treating environmental giving as a one-off initiative, Camp Alderwild is tying conservation directly to the experience of attending its events, allowing fans to contribute simply by showing up.
The fund’s first initiative arrives amid an urgent need in the surrounding region. Its inaugural contribution will support the Telluride Foundation’s Ouray County Fire Fund, providing immediate relief and recovery support for wildfire response efforts, first responders, local organizations, and families impacted by active fires in the Ridgway and Ouray region.
The choice of the Ouray County Fire Fund represents the connection between Camp Alderwild and the mountainscapes that surround its home. As attendees come together in Colorado’s mountains for music and culture, their participation can also help support the communities that make the experience possible.

That philosophy is at the heart of the new fund. “The landscapes that shape this experience deserve our care long after the music ends,” Camp Alderwild shared in announcing the fund.
With future contributions set to support additional organizations focused on conservation and environmental protection, the Alderwild Nature Fund represents an evolution of the work Camp Alderwild has already been doing. For the fans arriving to celebrate in Colorado’s mountains, it offers another reason to celebrate their experience.
