Nicole Moudaber makes rare vocal appearance on Danny Avila’s new single
Nicole Moudaber and Danny Avila join forces on new track “Welcome 2 Miami” inspired by a night at Club Space.
Nicole Moudaber has teamed up with Spanish DJ and producer Danny Avila for their new single, “Welcome 2 Miami.” After hearing the track, Moudaber immediately knew it belonged with MoodCollective. But there was one thing she wasn’t sold on: the AI-generated vocals.
“I loved the record instantly, but I wasn’t interested in using AI vocals,” Moudaber explained. “I said to Danny, ‘F**k AI — I’ll do them myself.’”
Moudaber quickly headed into the studio and recorded the vocals herself, making “Welcome 2 Miami” a true collaboration between the two producers without any artificial art. Her voice cuts through Avila’s driving production and creates the perfect track built for the last few weeks of summer.
Moudaber has a longstanding emphasis on artistry within electronic music, and this track proves her point even further. Last year, the producer sparked conversation after arguing that DJs were losing artistry by becoming increasingly dependent on technology.
For Avila, the collaboration marks a culmination of his career as he continues to experiment further with hard techno.
“For me, this collab is extra special because Nicole has been one of my favourite DJs and tastemakers ever since I started DJing over 15 years ago,” Avila said. “Getting the chance to create a record together that was inspired by a night at Space Miami feels like a full-circle moment!”
On Instagram, Avila also wrote that Moudaber is “a real DJ, someone who can play anything from house to tech house to techno and tell a story through her set, which is hard to find these days. That’s what I admire most about her and something I look up to.”
Moudaber recently launched MoodCollective, a tech-house-focused label, in 2025 as a sister imprint to her longstanding MOOD Records. With the intention of creating another platform for emerging talent and forward-thinking club music, “Welcome 2 Miami” fits perfectly within the growing Mood universe.
