Music On Malta sells out debut edition
Music On welcomes over 6,000 attendees for first-ever Malta edition
Italian DJ and producer Marco Carola’s long-running international party brand, Music On, made its Malta debut on August 1, 2026, selling out the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre (MFCC) with more than 6,000 attendees. According to organizers, the debut drew strong reactions from artists and fans alike, with some calling it one of Music On’s strongest editions to date.
Carola created the event brand around 2011, with Music On establishing its identity in Ibiza in 2012 through its Friday night residency at Amnesia. According to Music On, Carola wanted to create a platform where he could develop his vision for club music while also giving emerging and established artists a space to showcase their sound. In 2019, Music On moved its Ibiza residency to Pacha Ibiza, where it remains a major Friday night fixture on the island.
Over the years, Music On has expanded beyond Ibiza and brought its signature parties to destinations around the world. With its debut in Malta, the brand brought its Ibiza-rooted party concept to another Mediterranean market for the first time.
The debut lineup featured Marco Carola alongside East End Dubs, Franky Rizardo, Ilario Alicante, Joey Daniel, Mason Collective, and more. Maltese DJ Ant Mifsud was also included on the lineup, creating a direct connection between the international Music On brand and Malta’s local electronic music scene.
The lineup stayed consistent with the sound Music On has become known for, leaning into groove-heavy house, minimal, and techno. Long DJ sets and extended parties have also become part of the brand’s identity, something the Malta debut embraced with a 12-hour event running from 4 p.m. until 4 a.m.
The sold-out debut represents something meaningful for the Music On brand. Rather than returning to a market where the event already had an established audience, Music On was entering Malta for the first time. Welcoming more than 6,000 attendees demonstrated that the Music On name itself has enough pull to bring a sizable audience to a new destination, further establishing the brand’s reach beyond its Ibiza roots.
