Why Ibiza at the end of summer is even better than high season

Ibiza has kept the party going while travelers have discovered a better way to experience the island after summer.

Ibiza is known for going all out during the summer, but the party doesn’t stop when August ends. September and October are becoming a popular time to visit the island, giving travelers a chance to enjoy Ibiza without dealing with the biggest crowds and hottest days.

The “second season” comes with plenty of perks. The weather is still warm, the water is perfect for swimming, and restaurants and beaches are a little easier to enjoy. With more people choosing shorter trips, Ibiza is also a great spot for a quick four-to-six-night getaway.

And for EDM fans, there’s still plenty happening after the summer rush. Clubs like Chinois Ibiza keep things moving through September and October with parties from names like Defected, Claptone presents Masquerade, La Troya and Bedouin presents SAGA. You can still catch some huge DJs while having a bit more room to actually enjoy the night.

There’s also more to Ibiza than staying out until sunrise. Mikasa Ibiza offers a chill spot near Marina Botafoch, while Beachouse Ibiza is all about beach days, yoga, long lunches and drinks by the water. Its Moonlit Dinners continue through the season, with the final LUNAR event happening on September 26.

For a change of scenery, head inland to Santa Gertrudis. The village is packed with cool shops, galleries and cafés, while Finca La Plaza serves up Mediterranean food made with fresh local ingredients. It’s a much slower side of Ibiza and a nice break from the club scene.

So if you’ve been thinking about an Ibiza trip, don’t count out September or October. You still get the beaches, DJs, food and late nights, just without quite as much of the summer madness.

Hey everyone, I'm Neil! I first joined the dance community back in 2019 when my friend dragged me to Moonrise, my first-ever music festival, and I became hooked ever since. I like to dabble in most genres with my favorites being tech house and melodic techno. When it comes to studio output, Camelphat is part of my daily listening rotation and for a live performance, I'll never miss a Solomun set. You can likely catch me on the dance floor somewhere in Brooklyn!
