HVDES and End Overdose to host Kandi Lab event in LA this month

HVDES partners with End Overdose to promote overdose prevention through an interactive fan experience in Los Angeles.

HVDES is bringing fans together for more than just music this month. On July 18, the bass artist will partner with nonprofit End Overdose to host the Biohazard Kandi Lab in Los Angeles, a community focused event that combines creativity with overdose prevention education.

The event will feature kandi making stations hosted by Basshead Beads, along with raffle prizes from HVDES, Lunchbox Packs, End Overdose, and Basshead Beads. Fans can earn raffle entries by making kandi and helping pack End Overdose kits during the event. One attendee will also win two general admission tickets to any festival where HVDES is performing in 2026. For those unable to make it to Los Angeles, an online giveaway will offer another chance to win a merchandise bundle.

To attend the event, fans must complete End Overdose’s online overdose response training and submit proof of completion for a chance to receive an invitation. Attendance is limited, with selected fans receiving event details before July 18.

For HVDES, the partnership carries personal significance. Having celebrated more than six years of sobriety, she has spoken openly about the impact the opioid crisis has had on people close to her. She says using her platform to encourage overdose response training and reduce the stigma surrounding addiction has become one of the most meaningful parts of her career.

The event also reflects values that have long been part of rave culture. It offers fans a chance to spend time together while supporting an organization dedicated to expanding access to naloxone, overdose response training, and other lifesaving resources.

With limited attendance, the gathering is designed to give fans a chance to connect while learning skills that could help save lives. Biohazard Kandi Lab shows how artists can bring fans together while supporting an important cause. By combining community, creativity, and overdose prevention education, the event aims to leave attendees with more than just a memorable experience.

My name is Alejandra Benitez and I was born and raised in the DMV. Having close proximity to Washington D.C. means I am accustomed to a fast paced environment as things are constantly changing. For me, the EDM scene has provided so much comfort and space to really find myself even amongst chaos. My first ever show was Zeds Dead and it truly changed my outlook on community and further affirmed my love for music. I am a basshead at heart but enjoy exploring new genres and artists. Being a writer for Exron has given me an amazing opportunity to learn more about the electronic music industry and I love being able to express myself creatively. Some of my favorite artists include Levity, Rezz, Tape B, Disco Lines, and Sub Focus.
