Harvey of Prospa steps back from touring due to ongoing eardrum issues
Harvey of UK electronic duo Prospa prioritises recovery as touring continues.
One half of the Prospa duo is unfortunately having to step away from touring due to a medical issue. Harvey Blumler and Gosha Smith make up the electronic music duo. Harvey shared a statement on the pair’s joint Instagram, saying, “It breaks my heart, but I (Harvey) have to take some time out due to an ongoing issue with my ears. Over the last 6 weeks I’ve suffered with two perforated eardrums and ear infections.”

Harvey added that, although he has continued performing shows, this is also why his ears have not had a chance to properly heal. After seeking medical care, his specialist strongly advised him to let his ears fully recover if he wanted to continue his music career long term. He said, “For the foreseeable future I’m going to have to sit out the shows.” He is hopeful he will only need to step away for four weeks, but noted that timeline could be extended depending on how his ears progress with proper rest.
Prospa has become one of the UK’s fastest-rising electronic acts in recent years. Since breaking through with their 2018 track “Prayer,” the duo has built a reputation for blending classic UK rave influences, progressive house, breakbeats, garage, and emotionally driven melodies into their sound. Their rise has earned them bookings at some of dance music’s biggest festivals and clubs around the world.
The statement clarified that Prospa’s scheduled shows will continue. No performances will be cancelled or rescheduled, with Gosha performing the duo’s tour dates solo while Harvey recovers. Harvey closed the statement by thanking fans for their understanding and expressing his gratitude to Gosha for his continued hard work and dedication to Prospa during his absence. He ended by saying, “All I ask is that you show him the appreciation he deserves and send him some love.”

Peers and fans quickly flooded the comments section with messages of support and encouragement. Dom Dolla commented, “ah mate 💔 went through something similar a few years back. Cancelled a bunch of shows, prioritising recovery was the best decision i ever made. look after yourself brother, the dance floor ain’t going anywhere ♥️ we’ll be waiting when you get back x.” Blond:ish wrote, “Health is wealth, see you on the other side ❤️.” Calvin Harris also shared his support, commenting, “Look after yourself mate, back stronger with a bit of rest ❤️.”
While Harvey’s absence will undoubtedly be felt by fans, his decision highlights the physical demands of constant touring and the importance of prioritising long-term health. For now, Prospa’s live schedule will continue with Gosha at the helm as Harvey focuses on making a full recovery.
