Lee Reynolds opens up about mental health amid financial, health, and family issues
Lee Reynolds from Desert Hearts shares personal details with fans via Instagram amidst ongoing mental, financial, and physical health issues.
In honor of Men’s Mental Health Awareness, observed each June, Lee Reynolds opens up about his own struggles and how they impact his day-to-day life. Desert Heart’s Lee Reynolds begins his post with a photo of himself sitting amongst a tropical paradise, softly smiling in a way that suggests a life of ease. However, the carousel slides that follow depict a very different picture.
On the next two slides, Reynolds shares several paragraphs reflecting on a life that has “always been a crazy rollercoaster with numerous low points, failures, near misses, and several close calls with death.” He points out that most of us use social media to share success stories, but this is not that; rather, it’s a more vulnerable dive into what lies beneath the surface of a successful producer’s life.
Lee Reynolds is not the first and will undoubtedly be the last artist to come forward about ongoing and intertangled challenges. Many artists are now stepping back or away from the scene to focus on their health, happiness, family, and overall well-being.
Fortunately, Reynolds notes that he has been feeling much better lately. He reflects on his own privileges, reminding fans that even in times of uncertainty or turmoil, there are always those suffering from greater hardship. Despite the problems he has faced over the course of his life, he says he is most proud of his daughter, Harmony, and his induction into the British BMX Hall of Fame.
Reynolds ’ post serves as a reminder of the ongoing difficulties artists face in pursuit of their passions. It also serves as a message of hope, reminding others who may be struggling to stay strong and work hard to overcome their fears.
