Kaivon celebrates six years sober with dapper post

Kaivon celebrates a major milestone, marking six years of sobriety, and shared a heartfelt post with love and support from his fans.

Kaivon is marking a major personal milestone. The LA-based producer took to Instagram this week to celebrate six years of sobriety. As a major accomplishment and life milestone for him, he shared a picture on the social media platform Instagram with the caption “6 years sober today. I love you beyond words and more than you’ll ever know.”

Kaivon first went public about his sobriety in June 2021, one-year after he decided to get sober. He has shared that substances had stopped serving as an escape and had started amplifying the lows he was trying to avoid publicly, and confessed to dark comedowns. Escaping the escape, he defeated isolation, which drove his decision to stop and make the change that moved him towards something closer to personal peace. He has been a beacon for his fans, showing that while they struggle and navigate their own journeys, they should not be so hard on themselves.

The following year, his debut album ‘Awakening’ arrived as a direct product of that experience. Getting sober was the turning point that shaped the project, and he has said as much in interviews since. He has been consistently releasing music and performing ever since, building a fanbase known for its loyalty and his ongoing commitment to the message that you are not alone. The comments on his post support this message, with one user writing, “It’s been 14 months since I quit drinking and life has only gotten better. Didn’t realize you were on this path as well as I only recently discovered your music. Great stuff! Keep on keeping on both in life and in your music.”

His announcement follows a growing wave of electronic artists opening up about sobriety in recent years. GRiZ prioritized getting sober before his return from hiatus. Luca Lush documented his transformation publicly. Illenium has been open about his recovery for years. Of The Trees has also been vocal regarding his sobriety journey. As the scene and culture of the greenroom evolves, fans are seeing more artists push back against the idea that nightlife has to mean excess. Congratulations to Kaivon and his road to happiness, and the scene thanks him for being one of the most consistent voices in a very taboo conversation.
