REZZ pivots to ‘movie making’ after canceling tour

REZZ is writing a psychological horror movie and says that canceling her tour inspired her to create this new silo of media.

REZZ is making a REZZ horror movie. The DJ and producer announced on Instagram that she has begun to write the script and score for a new psychological horror movie. She also confirmed that she will create the soundtrack and score for her film. This is better than Christmas morning for the fans in the Venn diagram where horror and the enigma that is Rezz music, shows, and sets overlap. If you know her music, you already know the score is going to be unsettling in the best way possible. How exciting!

She has been off the road since canceling her tour due to illness, and in posts on X this week, she was pretty direct about the connection between her time off to heal and the ideation of her upcoming horror movie. She wrote on the social media platform, “Thankfully no one can enter my brain and steal my idea cuz what I have is gold right now and if u were to ask me years ago if I’d imagine I’d get into movie making I’d laugh but here I am on the next mission and my illness / cancelling touring is the reason this happened.”

Having pushed through many ideations of her Portal show while battling an unknown illness, she said that those working in filmmaking have reached out. The thing she sacrificed the most for is now what is generating a completely new set of opportunities in a completely new medium for her artistry. She also graced fans with a new track, “In The Mirror,” which served as the closing song for the Portal shows. No timeline or additional details on the REZZ movie, but she hardly ever misses. This marriage of her iconic sound and a psychological thriller is an absolute treat on the horizon.
