GORDO plays major role across Drake’s new massive album drops

Drake taps GORDO to produce 10 tracks for his two newest albums.

It has been revealed that GORDO played a massive role in Drake’s newest club-ready album, ‘MAID OF HONOR,’ producing nine out of the fourteen tracks on the project. He also produced the track, “WMBA” from ‘HABIBTI.’ This brings GORDO’s production credits for Drake to over 20 tracks since 2020. Notably, he shaped the sound of Drake’s most experimental era by anchoring the electronic and dance music waves found on Honestly, Nevermind.’

With production credits on “Sticky,” “Massive,” and “Rich Baby Daddy,” GORDO has helped drive well over 900 million collective Spotify streams for Drake. In an interview with Billboard Magazine, GORDO reflects on his extensive and evolving collaborative relationship with Drake.

GORDO heavily credits his production team for the collaboration on this project, which includes ZECCA, as well as Joan and Richard. He noted in the interview that the music’s sonic quality is a testament to their hard work and dedication – even claiming they would create 5 to seven different versions of the same song at the same time.

In a recent interview with Billboard, GORDO expressed that he views himself as a “small tool to [Drake’s] genius plan.” He shared that this time around, he intentionally took a back seat to support Drake’s overarching vision for the album. This has been a theme in the collaboration between the two artists, especially as he thinks Drake has officially entered his “I don’t give a f**k what anyone thinks,” era and continues to push bold boundaries, especially in the EDM space.

GORDO shared that he views Drake as the greatest of all time, as he effortlessly stays relevant across multiple generations and genres. He praised Drake for being able to constantly adapt his sound to pop culture while remaining highly inventive and individual.

However, GORDO has shared that he will be pivoting back to his solo career, following the release of his debut album ‘DIAMANTE,’ which was entirely produced by Drake. GORDO has confirmed that he has been working on a new album as well. This new album is expected to expand his TARAKA brand, which will be landing at Pacha in Ibiza for Summer 2026.

My favorite thing in the whole world is music and after hearing "One" by Swedish House Mafia for the first time in 2014, I was hooked on EDM. Dance music has been a large part of who I am and will always be searching for new ways to incorporate it in my life. The pure bliss that I feel from live shows is a feeling I never want to stop chasing (iykyk). Some of my favorite artists include Flume, Rüfüs Du Sol, Mindchatter, Gorgon City, Prospa :)
