Chasewest declares candidacy for Mayor of Tampa, Florida
ChaseWest is set to launch his inaugural political campaign for Tampa Mayor on July 4th, 2026
ChaseWest has publicly stated that he will be running for Mayor of Tampa, as elections for the position are set for May 1, 2027. The news came as a surprise to fans who are still unsure if this is a serious campaign or some type of promo for an upcoming project.
However, there is a serious tone in the public statement that he released, which shares that he is ready to make a deeper impact on the community of Tampa. On July 4th, 2026, a day that represents independence for the United States, ChaseWest will be launching his campaign at the historic Cuban Club.

The Cuban Club in Tampa is a beloved venue to the community of Tampa, and is an events center for weddings, business expos, and cultural and musical events. By launching his campaign at the Cuban Club, ChaseWest seamlessly merges politics and music under a shared banner of community.
With the future in mind, ChaseWest claims the campaign will be about “building a city where small business can thrive, where families feel safe, where the arts and music scene are celebrated, where neighborhoods are protected, and where opportunity is not reserved for the few, but opened to everyone willing to work for it.”

ChaseWest claims that Tampa “deserves bold leadership…fresh energy…and someone who believes in [the] city not only for what it is, but for what it can become.”
The current mayor of Tampa is Jane Castor, who assumed office on May 1st, 2019, becoming the 59th mayor of the city and its first female Chief of Police. She then won the general election again on March 7th, 2023, and her term is up in 2027.
