Zeds Dead release new anthem for Canada Soccer’s Perfect Pitch campaign

DC and Hooks, AKA the GOATS behind Zeds Dead, are having a year, and “WE CAME TO BLEED,” Canada’s anthem to the World Cup, is their latest conquest.

Zeds Dead has released “We Came To Bleed,” a new collaboration with ARDN and Grammy-winning producer Boi-1da, on May 8th. The track arrives as part of the project “Perfect Pitch,” Canada Soccer’s music ambassador program built around the 2026 World Cup, which is happening here in North America. Matches will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. “We Came To Bleed” is part of “What If It All Goes Right?”, a Canada Soccer compilation featuring a diverse lineup of Canadian artists across hip-hop, electronic, and pop, dropping just in time for the World Cup.

The song blends Zeds Dead’s iconic, and quite frankly incredible, cinematic bass production with artist Boi-1da’s hip-hop foundation. ARDN, a Canadian-Ugandan rapper, to deliver the vocals. Together, the three artists collaborate to create a track that, at its core, is hype music, capturing the pressure and great pride to compete on soccer’s largest stage. Zeds Dead is no stranger to collaborating and working in hip-hop. Before Zeds Dead was Zeds Dead, they were Mass Productions and released a hip-hop album titled “Fresh Beets” in 2007.

The release arrives during a landmark stretch for DC and Hooks. This year marks 15 years of Zeds Dead and a decade of their Deadbeats label. They’re currently gearing up for Journey of a Lifetime, the largest headlining tour of their career, spanning amphitheaters across North America this summer, with a new studio album also arriving in June. Fun fact: “Journey of a Lifetime” was also one of their first-ever songs as Zeds Dead and is still unreleased. For fans following Zeds Dead’s journey this year, this new music, along with the tour, is certainly worth paying attention to.
