Wax Motif recruits ZHU, Ty Dolla $ign, & Jeremih for new album

House of Wax II brings Wax Motif, ZHU, and Ty Dolla $ign together for a genre-blurring album packed with late-night energy.

Wax Motif is officially entering a new lane with ‘House of Wax II,’ and this might be the album that puts him on a whole different level outside the electronic scene. Dropping Friday, May 8, the project feels less like a traditional dance album and more like the kind of genre-blending release that takes over playlists all summer long.

If you know Wax Motif from festival sets and club-heavy tracks, ‘House of Wax II’ still keeps that energy, but this time there’s a much bigger focus on songwriting, hip-hop production, and R&B influences. The album moves between slick late-night tracks, bass-heavy party records, and smoother melodic moments without losing momentum. This unique artistic expression feels intentional instead of random, which is rare when artists try to mix this many styles of music together into one.

The feature lineup is honestly stacked. Ty Dolla $ign appears across multiple songs, while names like ZHU, Jeremih, Coi Leray, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and 24hrs bring completely different sonic vibes to the project. Instead of sounding all over the place, though, the album plays like one long night out that slowly shifts moods as it goes on.

A grand reason the new album works is that Wax Motif has already been building relationships with influential artists across multiple genres for years. He recently contributed behind the scenes on Ty Dolla $ign’s latest album, which debuted No. 1 in more than 80 countries, and he’s collaborated with artists and producers including Ye and Timbaland. You can hear those influences throughout ‘House of Wax II.‘

At a time when playlists and DJ festival sets are mixing rap, dance, and R&B more than ever, the album feels perfectly timed. It’s sharp enough for repeat listens but still has the kind of high-energy tracks that instantly make you want to go out, party, and dance your worries away.

I've been writing, covering events, and doing interviews with Exron for nearly four years, but have been an EDM-lover for over a decade. The music community and industry has a special place in my heart and I love exploring the depths. EDC Las Vegas is my favorite festival and this year will be my sixth time attending. Some other recent festivals I've been are Ultra, Elements, Lost Lands, Electric Forest, and Arc. I've been getting more into experimental bass, but techno and house will always have my heart. <3
