ZHU kicks off new dance music series with SPIN Magazine at Sound Nightclub
SPIN Magazine new dance music series has officially brought ZHU’s BLACK MIDAS universe into the center of Hollywood nightlife culture.
SPIN Magazine has officially stepped deeper into dance music culture, kicking off its new Dance Music Series with a special ZHU takeover at Sound Nightclub in Hollywood. The event celebrated both the launch of the series and the release of a limited-edition mini-mag built entirely around the ‘BLACK MIDAS’ album.
It was more than just a regular show. The night was a full-on immersive moment for fans stepping into ZHU’s dark, cinematic world, with the all-black dress code carrying over the same moody energy that has defined his BLACKLIZT events and recent performances.

Everyone who attended scored a collectible from SPIN: a ZHU cover mini-mag packed with an NFC chip loaded with an exclusive mix. One quick tap unlocked extra content created just for the event, giving the whole experience a futuristic edge that matched ZHU’s creative style.
The launch also arrived as ‘BLACK MIDAS’ keeps building momentum across the dance scene. The 14-track project leans hard into melodic techno and deep house, packed with shadowy basslines and stripped-back production that feels designed for late-night warehouse sets.
ZHU has spent the last year fully locked into the global club circuit, playing shows everywhere from Coachella and Ultra to surprise sets in Nashville, New York, and London. Those appearances have pushed his BLACKLIZT vision even further while setting the stage for this latest chapter.
For SPIN, the collab marks a fresh move into electronic music storytelling, while for ZHU, it’s another reminder that he keeps finding new ways to blur the line between music, art, and experience. If this launch is any sign of what’s next, the Dance Music Series is starting strong.
