Day Trip Festival makes its Northern California debut for a two-day, open-air house & techno celebration

Featuring Cloonee, Eli Brown, Gordo B2B Vintage Culture, Wax Motif, and more, “Bay Trip” is coming in hot.

Insomniac is officially bringing Day Trip Festival to Northern California for the first time. The Day Trip NorCal will debut at Discovery Meadow on Oct. 17–18, 2026, and transform downtown San Jose into an entire weekend of grooves on open-air dancefloors.

Presented in partnership with NPU Live, the inaugural two-day celebration marks another major expansion for the Southern California-born festival brand, following the launch of Day Trip Denver and the announcement of the brand-new Long Beach Amphitheater concept.

The Day Trip brand also just unveiled one of its grooviest lineups to date for its flagship 2026 edition. Day Trip is taking over every corner of U.S. dance music, and we anticipate a beautiful collaboration of the Bay Area scene and the sun-soaked Day Trip energy for this first-time event.

In true Day Trip fashion, the lineup is drool-worthy for the house heads. Saturday’s lineup features a massive B2B performance from Gordo and Vintage Culture, a sunset set from Eli Brown, Wax Motif, Script, JLittle, and Lefty. Sunday will see performances from Cloonee and a special collaborative set from Matroda and San Pacho under their After Midnight project. Fallon, Eve Lauren, Sage, and a still-unannounced special guest round out the weekend lineup.

Day Trip’s social media accounts teased the announcement, dubbing the event the “Bay Trip.” Bay Trip will transform Discovery Meadow into a dancefloor haven with euphoric daytime sets to high-energy bassline-loving after-hours moments. The weekend will showcase the full spectrum of the Day Trip sound, giving Bay Area warehouse-raised house heads a festival of their own without having to make the long trek down the 101 freeway.

The Norcal debut also marks a new partnership between NPU Live and Insomniac. As Insomniac continues to lean into major collaborative ventures, like the recent headline-making announcement collaboration with Tomorrowland, this Bay Area move shows that Insomniac is undoubtedly taking it global, but still emphasizing the local and regional culture that set the foundation for what it is today. Warehouse energy is always going to be at the top, and now the Bay Area gets to revel in it, too.

Hi, I’m Lily! I’m an LA-based concert & festival diehard! My life was forever changed after my first festival, Coachella 2019, and then fully spiraled (in the best way) after my first EDC in 2023. I have attended over 140+ shows... I am the ultimate stage hopper and will always make it to the barricade. I love dubstep, house, trance, techno, bass, you name it. If I’m not at a show, I’m working as a social media manager & photographer, or probably listening to music, learning how to DJ, planning my next festival, or watching a Gordon Ramsay cooking show with my cat. I am so excited to be writing for Exron and sharing my love for music. If you're reading this, thanks for being here and reading my stuff!
