Forbidden Kingdom levels up for 2027 three-day expansion
Following a sold-out weekend, Insomniac responds to fan feedback and confirms a three-day expansion for Forbidden Kingdom 2027.
Forbidden Kingdom is officially set to return from April 23 through 25, 2027, marking a major step forward for the growing Orlando festival. Following its eighth edition, the event is now locking in its next chapter with expanded dates and rising momentum behind it.
This year, Forbidden Kingdom delivered across the board. With sets from Liquid Stranger b2b Mersiv, SVDDENDEATH, YDG, and T-Pain, attendees were dancing all weekend. Backed by large-scale production, packed crowds filled every stage from open to close.
Beyond the headliners, the weekend had its share of standout moments. Ivy Lab delivered a sunset drum and bass set that doubled as a farewell appearance. The Dragon’s Nest stage kept things moving with surprise guests and local talent.
This momentum is carrying into 2027 with the move to three days. The added time gives organizers more room to build out the lineup and create a more spread-out schedule, something fans have been asking for as attendance continues to climb.
There was also some uncertainty around where the next chapter would take place. Early signs during the festival pointed toward a possible move to Tinker Field. The beloved EDC Orlando site sparked mixed reactions among longtime attendees. Pasquale Rotella later confirmed, after taking in online and in-person feedback, that the decision was to keep Forbidden Kingdom at the Central Florida Fairgrounds.
The fairgrounds have become closely tied to the event’s identity and flow over the years. The decision to keep the festival there is one that many celebrated online. As part of the Bassrush brand, the festival continues to lean into its roots while expanding its reach. With more than 100 artists expected across five stages, the 2027 edition will reflect the growth and community behind it.
