The fan-fueled festival Same Same But Different Festival (SSBD) returns to Lake Perris again with a stacked Phase One lineup and immersive experiences. Taking place September 25–27, 2026, this first phase reflects SSBD’s ever-evolving blend of music and beloved community programming.

No need for any introduction: Of The Trees, LSDREAM, and Tape B, with a special guest appearance by Gramatik, will be headlining this year. Other names like Ship Wrek, Effin, Steller, Kasablanca, Andy Frasco & the U.N. and more rising talent will also appear. 

SSBD continues its tradition of spotlighting emerging artists worth keeping on your radar. Steller has been steadily gaining traction in the bass scene, recently collaborating with Zingara. If you love tye-dye and appreciate a remix of classic rock-and-roll into a heavy bass drop, Steller’s set should make your schedule.

Another rising name, Peace Control, represents the next wave of high-energy house. They’ve dominated every club, and now they are bringing their sharp afro house beats to the lakeside.

After the recent announcement of Same Same But Different & Almost Nakey RESET wellness event in San Diego featuring Big Gigantic, the festival is doubling down on its signature blend of music and mindfulness. Attendees can once again experience LSDREAM’s Lightcode sessions, a fan-favorite that merges sound healing and meditation. 

Same Same But Different really crafts and maintains their ethos: creating a culture, not just another music event. SSBD truly thrives on community collaboration and programming, and this year will be no different. The Family Garden will return with creative workshops and all-ages activities, along with a community 5K run and VIP wellness amenities like saunas, cold plunges, and recovery spaces for when dancing all night takes its toll. Nakey Island, the festival’s exclusive boat-access-only escape, will also make a triumphant return, with surprise DJs set popping up all weekend.

New for 2026 is “Butwood,” a Golden Age of Hollywood-inspired theme for SSBD’s signature “But” stage. The concept transforms the festival into a fully participatory experience where attendees step into the spotlight. Reimagining the grounds as a living film set with red carpet energy and cinematic moments, it introduces a series of interactive prompts that invite fans to shape the weekend before it begins, from developing characters to contributing creative ideas that influence the festival and this stage area’s visual identity.

Really diving into a community-first mindset, SSBD became one of the first fan-owned festivals in the world by raising over $700,000 directly from attendees. With attendance capped at 7,500, SSBD offers an intimate alternative to the mega-festival circuit and allows fans to get directly involved in the decision-making process.
