Who are the nominees for Best Dance/Electronic Artist at the 2026 American Music Awards?

Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Fred again, ILLENIUM, and John Summit are all in the running for the 52nd American Music Awards.

Nominations for the 52nd American Music Awards were announced on April 14, with the ceremony set for Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Queen Latifah will host the event at the MGM Grand Garden, one of the larger venues that has hosted it, on CBS and Paramount+.

Five names are in the running for Best Dance/Electronic Artist: Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Fred again.., ILLENIUM, and John Summit. Industry veteran Harris is the most-nominated artist in the category’s history, with seven total nominations during his tenure. However, this is a tight race, with his fellow nominees all mega names in the dance scene. Guetta picked up his second nomination for Collaboration of the Year, making him one of the more popular nominees on the board this cycle.

Fred again.. has had an undeniable stretch ‌this year and in years past, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Victory Lap” with Skepta and PlaqueBoyMax. His presence in the AMA conversation confirms he has fully crossed over from dance-centric fans to mainstream force. ILLENIUM represents the more melodic bass realm, an emotionally driven corner of electronic music, and a lane that doesn’t always get recognized at awards shows like this. His fanbase is one of the most dedicated in the game, and in a fan-voted category, that matters.

John Summit rounds out the five, and honestly, it feels like a long time coming. His rise from an accountant playing at Chicago club nights to mainstage slots at major festivals has been one of the better stories in dance music over the past few years. Getting that AMA recognition is a milestone worth noting.
