One of the most anticipated melodic electronic releases of the year, “World Is Mine,” was released on Friday, April 24. The track marks Lane 8 and Kasbo’s first official collaboration, released via Lane 8’s label, This Never Happened.

Fans have been waiting for this release for nearly a year, as it circulated through live sets and online discussions. At one point, fans even referred to the track as “Superman”, a misheard lyric that became its unofficial name across online discussions. “World Is Mine” is more than a collaborative single between Lane 8 and Kasbo. It also solidifies Kasbo’s introduction into the This Never Happened ecosystem.

The track began as an idea between Kasbo and BJOERN before being further shaped with Lane 8’s contribution, bringing the record into a fully realized blend of their styles. Built on layered textures and subtle rhythmic progression, it balances intimacy with a widescreen, dancefloor-ready feel.

This Never Happened is more than just a label. It operates as a philosophy, community, and experience model all at once, functioning as a record label, event series, and curated artist ecosystem. Built around the idea of experiencing music on the artist’s terms, its events are known for their no-phone policy, encouraging a deeper connection to the music and a more present crowd experience. The release of “World Is Mine” signals Kasbo stepping further into this ecosystem, aligning with its sound and audience as he continues to experiment.

The track also reflects the evolution of Kasbo’s sound and his growing relationship with Lane 8. He has begun shifting from indie electronic toward a cleaner, more repeatable melodic house style, while still maintaining his emotional core.

The release arrives at a pivotal moment for Lane 8, as 2026 marks 10 years of This Never Happened. The anniversary is being celebrated through curated international shows, alongside a personal transition for Lane 8, who is relocating from Denver to Europe later this year.
