Moby will donate all of his Coachella profits to leading Animal Rights Organizations

Moby has announced that he will donate the profits from his powerful Coachella return performance to a range of animal rights groups.

Moby turned his Coachella return into something much bigger than a nostalgia set. After taking the stage in Indio, Moby announced that he will donate 100% of his Coachella performance profits to a group of animal rights organizations. By keeping his activism front and center, the dance music giant sets an enormous example for other artists.

The money will go to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, Mercy For Animals, The Humane League, and Direct Action Everywhere. The move fits Moby’s long-running habit of putting purpose ahead of profit, especially when it comes to animal welfare.

For Moby, that mission has never been separate from the music. He has spent years speaking out for animal rights, and he made the same point clear in his Coachella announcement. The show is a chance not just to perform, but to direct attention and support toward causes that matter. Certainly, it makes the gesture feel less like a stunt and more like a deep-rooted M.O. of his.

The set itself carried a nice bit of history, too. Moby was the only artist from Coachella’s original 1999 lineup to return for the 2026 edition. He also brought out Jacob Lusk for an emotional vocal rendering of “When It’s Cold I’d Like to Die” and “Natural Blues.”

“When It’s Cold I’d Like to Die” has recently found a new life after its feature on Stranger Things. The song’s resurgence has helped introduce Moby to a younger wave of listeners. Importantly, it has also reminded longtime fans why his music still hits so hard.
