Inside John Summit’s new album ‘CTRL ESCAPE’
John Summit’s highly anticipated album, ‘CTRL ESCAPE’, is out now on all major streaming platforms.
‘CTRL ESCAPE’ aims to explore the duality of the human experience, bringing listeners closer to what life inside the mind of John Summit might sound like. This thirteen-track record includes sounds spanning several genres of electronic music, giving listeners the chance to indulge in a little bit of everything.
John Summit discusses the profound inspiration behind his work, stating, “The album is about escaping the control of corporate life,” Summit explains. “But also about not being pigeonholed with a specific sound. The whole point of being an artist is being able to express myself in any single way. The overall concept of the album relates to not just breaking out of, literally, my corporate job, but also as an artist, being able to break free and do whatever the hell I want.”
With this much inspiration behind his projects, it’s no surprise that John Summit continues to improve and expand as an artist. This album release coincides with Summit’s immense success in the EDM scene. Summit is set to headline massive upcoming events and festivals, such as his recent surprise set at Coachella’s Do LaB. Additionally, the artist recently closed the Ultra Miami main stage in a historic performance.
John Summit will headline in his hometown of Chicago this July, bringing his tech-house grooves to Lollapalooza as one of the most anticipated sets of the weekend. Other upcoming milestones for Summit include his summer residency debut in Ibiza and his very own festival, Experts Only, taking place for its second year in Brooklyn from September 19th to 20th.
‘CTRL ESCAPE’ is John Summit’s second full-length studio album, following ‘Comfort in Chaos’, which was released in 2024. Summit has also released two EPs, ‘Playa Package’ (2025) and ‘In Chicago’ (2022). ‘CTRL ESCAPE’ is unbound by a single genre, with supporting artists Julia Wolf, The Chainsmokers, Ninja, Feid, LAVINIA, and more featured on select tracks.
