Marshmello and Alison Wonderland to headline Pokémon rave in LA

Pokémon goes full rave mode as Marshmello & Alison Wonderland lead a nostalgia-fueled rave celebrating 30 years of the iconic franchise.

The worlds of EDM and childhood nostalgia have officially collided. Pokémon has unveiled their official first-of-its-kind concert experience to commemorate 30 years of its crazed franchise, and counting. “Pokémon Night Out” is set to host Marshmello and Alison Wonderland, putting on a fire set for ravers and Pokémon fans, promising an immersive fusion defining generations of a crazed fanbase.

Two major shows have been confirmed by the Pokémon Company. The first gig lands at Intuit Dome on October 24th, followed by another rave across the Atlantic at The O2 Arena on November 10th. Tickets are set to go on sale April 17th, giving fans just enough time to sprint to grab a ticket quicker than hoarding boxes of collectable trading cards at their local Costco the second it opens.

The concept has been designed as one of many activations partaking in Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebration, marking decades since the debut of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green released in 1996 on the Nintendo Game Boy. Since then, more titles came out every year along with TV shows, movies, toys, merch, and just as we couldn’t think of it, Pokémon GO, causing outdoor mayhem around the world. Iconic characters like Pikachu, Snorlax, Meowth, and many more became global icons over time.

Both artists heading the events expressed genuine excitement to be a part of the milestone, with Alison Wonderland sharing her longtime love for the franchise and teasing exclusive edits and visuals. Meanwhile, Marshmello reflected on his own connection to the franchise, even revealing a soft spot for Mewtwo, because every DJ needs a slightly mysterious alter ego.

As Marshmello worked with gaming and pop culture collabs in the past, his aim with the show is to blend high-end production with fan service, featuring custom visuals, themed stage design, and a fully immersive environment. The gigs expect to be less traditional and more of a POV: you accidentally walked into a rave inside a Poké Ball.

As anticipation continued to build, one thing has become clear. This isn’t just an ordinary rave event; it’s a full-circle moment. The kids once battled in Link Cable duels, played against each other in battles on every Nintendo console for three decades, and heard the iconic theme song. Now they haven’t let the love of Pokémon grow out of them, uniting together, jumping to every bass drop they hear.
