Crankdat reveals he nearly abandoned DJ project before recent blow up success

Crankdat has reflected on his comeback journey and has reached massive career highs after nearly walking away.

Crankdat is taking a moment to reflect after one of the biggest milestones of his career. Just over a week after Crankdome on March 21, the DJ opened up about how far things have come. What feels like a victory lap now actually started from a really low point.

A few years back, things weren’t looking great for him behind the scenes. After getting dropped by his agency, he was dealing with a stretch that left him feeling discouraged and unsure about what was next. At that point, he was seriously considering walking away from music altogether.

He even gave himself a rough timeline, thinking he had about six months left before calling it quits. After years of touring and building his name, it felt like the run might be over. It was one of those make-or-break moments that could’ve gone either way.

But instead of fading out, things slowly started to click again. In 2023, he sold out his first headline show in years, which gave him the push to keep going. From there, the momentum kept building in a big way.

Now, everything has flipped completely. He’s gone from almost quitting to headlining major shows, including his first arena performance, headlining Red Rocks, closing Ultra Music Festival with Wooli, and getting booked on huge festival lineups. It’s the kind of turnaround that doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it hits hard.

Looking back, his story is a reminder to not give up too early. Sometimes you’re way closer to things turning around than you think. And for Crankdat, Crankdome wasn’t just another show, it was proof that sticking it out can actually pay off in the biggest way.
