Sippy recovering from hospital stay due to serotonin syndrome

Bass star SIPPY shocks fans after revealing a scary hospital stay from serotonin syndrome.

Sippy has reassured fans after a brief but frightening hospital stay, revealing that she has been treated for a mild serotonin syndrome. The Sydney-born bass music DJ shared an Instagram post confirming she has returned home and recovered well, jokingly telling followers, “Unfortunately for my haters, I survived.” The message has quickly eased concerns across her fanbase after the unexpected health scare.

According to the artist, the episode became concerning for a short period, but medical staff acted quickly to stabilize her condition. She credited the nurses and doctors who treated her for resolving the issue swiftly, expressing gratitude for the care and the flood of supportive messages she received. In typical Sippy fashion, she has kept the mood light because even in the hospital, apparently, the bass must go on.

Serotonin syndrome is a medical condition caused by an excess of serotonin in the body, often triggered by certain medications or combinations of substances that affect the brain’s chemistry. While serotonin itself plays an essential role in regulating mood, sleep, and overall well-being, too much of it can push the body into a dangerous imbalance.

Symptoms can range from mild to severe and may include rapid heart rate, confusion, agitation, sweating, and muscle tremors. In serious cases, the condition can become life-threatening if untreated. Fortunately, mild cases, as the one Sippy has described, can often be resolved quickly with prompt medical care and monitoring. In other words, it is not the kind of drop anyone wants in real life.

Originally from Sydney and now based in Los Angeles, she has blended aggressive sound design with sharp musical instincts developed from a background in classical training and ballet.

After studying at the renowned ICON Collective, Sippy has gone on to release music on labels like Deadbeats and Monstercat while collaborating with major bass artists. Known for fearless production and explosive live sets, she has become a staple at festivals and events worldwide. And if her latest update has proven anything, it is that even a medical scare has not been enough to silence the bass.
