What we know about the shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles home

Florida woman charged with attempted murder in connection with shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles neighborhood.

A shooting outside the Los Angeles home of global music star Rihanna has led to attempted murder charges against a Florida woman, according to prosecutors. Authorities say the incident unfolded Sunday afternoon near the singer’s Beverly Hills-area property. Despite multiple people being on site at the time, officials confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Investigators say Rihanna was on the property alongside her longtime partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, as well as their three children and Rihanna’s mother. Prosecutors said the couple were inside a trailer on the grounds when the gunfire occurred, while other family members and staff were inside the main home.

The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz of Orlando, Florida faces a series of felony charges including ten counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts related to an inhabited dwelling.

Videos circulating online appear to show Ortiz posting about Rihanna multiple times prior to the incident. In several clips that have since spread across social media, she references the singer while making a series of religious and personal statements. Investigators have not publicly confirmed whether the posts are directly connected to the shooting and have not officially stated a motive.

Authorities say Ortiz was arrested shortly after the shooting several miles away in the Los Angeles suburb of Sherman Oaks. She briefly appeared in court following her arrest, where a public defender initially entered a not-guilty plea before withdrawing it to allow for a delayed arraignment. The next court hearing is scheduled for March 25.

For now, the investigation remains ongoing as prosecutors continue reviewing evidence. The case is expected to move forward in court in the coming weeks.
