SLANDER’s Derek Anderson welcomes newborn baby Eve with wife Connie

Derek Anderson, half of the duo that is Slander, has a whole new gig as a dad after he and his wife, Connie, welcomed a baby girl into the world.

The melodic bass heavyweight, Derek Anderson, half of the duo Slander, announced ‌the birth of his newborn daughter, Eve, this week, sharing the milestone with fans alongside his wife, Connie. The couple welcomed their baby girl in a heartfelt post that quickly spread through the dance music community, with artists and fans alike flooding the comments to celebrate the moment.

Anderson, one half of the chart-topping duo Slander alongside Scott Land, has spent the past decade shaping the emotional side of bass music, as well as pursuing a techno side project. From massive festival stages to their label and brand, Slander has built a reputation for music that leans heavily into feeling. Now, that emotional world just got a little more personal!

Anderson shared an adorable family photo on Instagram of himself, Connie, and Baby Eve. Writing, “She is here. Eve Seraphine Andersen. The most important chapter of my life has begun. The past few months, I have been laying low, caring for my wife and newborn child. Nothing can compare to the joy, light, and love in these moments. To my wife, Connie, you are the strongest, kindest, most compassionate soul in the whole world. I am in unending, complete gratitude for everything you have done, and continue to do, for Eve and our new family. To Eve, you have our entire hearts forever, and we will always be here for you… to eternity and back… our angel.”

While Slander’s touring schedule and releases continue to keep the duo busy, ‌Eve marks a new chapter for Anderson offstage. The announcement offered a rare glimpse into his life outside the festival circuit, showing a softer moment behind the scenes of one of bass music’s most recognizable acts.
