MitiS shares deeply personal new EP inspired by the loss of his father
MitiS pays homage to his father by releasing “Wilderness” ahead of his upcoming release ‘Through The Dark EP’.
As new music keeps coming especially from Ophelia Records, MitiS has returned with purpose, unveiling his latest single “Wilderness” with Katie Cecil. Released on February 27th, the track brings a deeply emotional sound to it, setting the tone for his forthcoming EP ‘Through The Dark.’ set to be released March 13th. From the opening piano notes, the release has made it clear that this chapter has carried more weight than usual.
“Wilderness” fully embraces the sound that MitiS is known for. It combines expressive piano with cinematic builds and melodic bass swells that tug directly at the heart. The song balances vulnerability and strength. Cecil’s vocals move between fragility and quiet power, as if the track expresses its own emotions.

The single also introduces an emotional foundation as the root inspiration in creating the project in the aftermath of losing his father. Following the hiatus, MitiS has returned to the piano as both a creative anchor and a form of processing, documenting themes of grief, healing, and resilience in his mind to build up the melodies as a dedication. His upcoming release has unfolded less like a collection of tracks and more like a journal set to chords in celebration of life.
The EP has also been set to receive its official release celebration on March 13th at Avalon Hollywood. At this stage, fans come together and headbang to the trippy sounds and get into their feels, promising a night where silence between wubs may matter just as much as the drops. In this stage, a set of emotional weight has been expected to fully land in a live setting.

Across the years, MitiS has translated that emotional honesty onto global stages at every show and festival he played from Lost Lands to EDC. He’s considered to be one of those dubstep artists along with Slander, Illenium, Said the Sky and Seven Lions to not only get the crowd crying, but also put them in a state of natural euphoria mid-set. “Wilderness” has felt designed for both solitary headphone moments and hands-in-the-air catharsis.
As this single is the first of many ahead of the EP release, MitiS has let his fans know more is yet to come. He has opened a door into one of the most personal periods of his life, proving once again that sometimes the strongest basslines are built from the deepest moments personally.
