ARMNHMR launches new house and techno alias ‘PASSPORT’ with debut EP
PASSPORT has released part one of debut EP, “Arrival”
ARMNHMR has unveiled his newest project from PASSPORT, a brand new alias coming from the California based duo. Joseph Chung and Joseph Abella the minds behind ARMNHMR have announced their debut EP, Arrival with part 1 of the project released and available to listen to now.
This EP will unfold through a series of singles and collaborations, ultimately forming a comprehensive body of work. While the duo is best known for their signature melodic bass and dubstep, this project marks a bold evolution into a new lane. The EP explores a groovy, four-on-the-floor energy, embracing the rhythmic foundations of house and techno.
The duo had officially introduced their alias PASSPORT in 2024, and debuted the project with a special set at EDC Las Vegas in May. With this debut, they both described PASSPORT as a way to travel through different sub-genres of dance music that didn’t necessarily fit the sound of the main ARMNHMR brand.
Therefore, PASSPORT was born as a way to experiment with different genres while keeping true to their creative roots and the high-energy, emotional storytelling that their fans have always connected with.Appropriately titled Arrival, the EP serves as a playful debut that perfectly complements the travel-inspired PASSPORT metaphor. There have been two songs released from the project already with part 2 anticipated to drop soon.

The first song on the EP is “Into Your Eyes,” which is a hypnotic tech-house track that is built on a steady bassline that feels like a late-night drive. The driving beat is deeply rhythmic and sultry held up by an ethereal vocal loop.
The second song, “Are You Ready,” leans more closer into a modern techno and bass-house sound as it has a high-energy and sharper cinematic texture. The vocal samples are designed to shape the song into a club weapon with its powerful four-on-the-floor melody.
