Sunset Music Festival announces waterfront rebrand for 2027
Sunset Music Festival returns with a waterfront glow-up for a refined 2027 comeback in Tampa.
Tampa’s Memorial Day soundtrack has officially evolved. Sunset Music Festival announces its rebrand to Sunset On The River for 2027. After last energizing the bay in 2023, the long-standing festival returns with a new identity, a new season, and an exciting waterfront glow-up, feeling less like a comeback and more like a well-deserved reinvention.
For two decades, Sunset Music Festival has been Tampa’s Memorial Day tradition, bringing together bass drops, beach vibes, and memorable weekends to thousands of ravers. Across 14 editions, the event has grown alongside the city, helping define Tampa Bay’s cultural rise and eventually expanding the EDM scene in the Tampa Bay area.

Now, the festival has entered its next chapter with a new date and a new home. Sunset On The River has been set for February 20–21, 2027, at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, trading late-May heat exhaustion for breezy sunsets along the Hillsborough River.
The new experience is all thanks to Sunset Events and Donnie Presents. Together, they aim to present a new boutique-style festival format with limited capacity. This ensures a unique experience, specially curated sound, immersive art, and refined hospitality as the theme of the overall festival structure.

Sunset On The River is also set to carry a purpose beyond the music. Each ticket will support ForHearts Worldwide, ensuring the festival delivers a top-notch experience while simultaneously helping save lives.
While lineup and ticket details remain under wraps, the message has been clear regarding Sunset’s grand return to the festival landscape after a few quiet years. In the meantime, fans can sign up for the ticket presale on Sunset’s official website to hold on to the anticipation and even obtain a chance to win a pair of two-day backstage passes.
