Health tips for ravers: A complete guide to partying smart
Festival ready? Exron Music’s got you covered.
Festival season promises catharsis, connection, and that fleeting moment when a drop feels like a necessary spiritual reset. But the difference between a euphoric weekend and a survival story is usually preparation, not luck. Partying smart is less about restraint and more about endurance. If you want to dance until sunrise and still enjoy the afterglow, treat the experience like a marathon, not a sprint.
First rule: respect your body before the headliner even starts. Day drinking with hard alcohol sounds festive, but quietly drains hydration and stamina before the night matters. Pace yourself early so your energy peaks when the music does.
Similarly, comfort matters. Wear shoes you can actually stand in for ten hours, that won’t give you blisters after 20,00 steps. The outfit only slays if you can still walk to the hotel/car/campsite at the festival’s end. On a similar note, dress for the weather instead of the Instagram post. Cold nights and sudden rain are part of outdoor events.
Your bag should be your survival kit. Bring a poncho, plastic baggies for electronics in case it rains, a minimum of five packs of gum, a portable charger, perfume, individual package makeup wipes, a fan for the heat (not clacking), and eyelash glue for emergencies. Tiny items prevent big problems and keep your group functional when the crowd gets chaotic.
Transportation is an underrated harm reduction. Do not park miles away if you can avoid it. Ubering to the venue saves energy and protects you after hours of dancing when fatigue hits hardest. And the same logic applies to where you sleep: do not skimp on the hotel. Staying somewhere safe and clean, and taking a warm shower at night, resets your body and prepares it for future raves.
Finally, the most important rule: do not do anything you are not comfortable doing. Peer pressure is the bane of every raver’s existence. The best rave memories come from feeling present, safe, and in control. Protect that feeling above everything else.
Take care of yourself, and the party takes care of you. Be safe, do unto others as you would have others do unto you, and stay PLUR always.
