In the previously shared post, he revealed that he also lost his grandfather within a short span of time. These losses occurred as GRiZ prepared for his highly anticipated return to the stage following his hiatus, adding another layer of emotional weight to his comeback.

Grant’s vulnerability stood out as he reflected on regrets, particularly around relationships he wished he had been able to repair. While the message carried undeniable sadness, it was ultimately rooted in love and self-reflection. True to form, he used the moment to encourage fans to lead with compassion and connection, echoing his long-standing mantra: show love, spread love.

During his Seven Stars Catching the Golden Hour performance, GRiZ opened the set by sharing lessons he learned while away from the spotlight. Among them was how grief reshaped his perspective, not only challenging him, but also teaching him how to carry loss with intention and purpose.

GRiZ remains one of EDM’s most influential and beloved artists, not just for his music, but for the community he continues to nurture. Even amid profound loss, he has shown up with honesty, heart, and generosity. We’re sending GRiZ and his loved ones nothing but love as they navigate this difficult time.

My name is Alejandra Benitez and I was born and raised in the DMV. Having close proximity to Washington D.C. means I am accustomed to a fast paced environment as things are constantly changing. For me, the EDM scene has provided so much comfort and space to really find myself even amongst chaos. My first ever show was Zeds Dead and it truly changed my outlook on community and further affirmed my love for music. I am a basshead at heart but enjoy exploring new genres and artists. Being a writer for Exron has given me an amazing opportunity to learn more about the electronic music industry and I love being able to express myself creatively. Some of my favorite artists include Levity, Rezz, Tape B, Disco Lines, and Sub Focus.
