Evan Giia announces first pregnancy with husband Memba

A Candid Look at Performing, Touring, and Creating While Pregnant

Evan Giia has announced her first pregnancy with husband Memba, sharing an inside look at her journey as an electronic artist. A baby already surrounded by music. In a recent Instagram post, Evan Giia revealed the many shows she played throughout 2025 while secretly pregnant. Her first was at Elsewhere in Brooklyn at just seven weeks pregnant. It was also her first-ever DJ set, and she admitted she was both extremely nervous and battling nausea at the same time.

At nine weeks pregnant, she performed at Breakaway Philadelphia, marking her first mainstage DJ. By 14 weeks, she took the stage at Heds World in Los Angeles. Alongside these milestones, she shared real-life photos of herself resting and navigating pregnancy sickness behind the scenes

At 19 weeks pregnant, Evan Giia appeared on On The Radar in New York City, sharing that she was beginning to feel more confident in her DJing abilities. At 20 weeks, during an EG DJ set in Los Angeles, she officially announced her pregnancy after the show, celebrating the moment with her fans. Just one week later, she performed another EG DJ set in Seattle. She captioned the carousel, “and it was not easy but when I say I’m going to do something, I do it. You can too!”

Throughout her pregnancy, Evan Giia has continued to openly document her experience, discussing her changing body and what it’s like to work as a DJ while pregnant. In one reel, she shared footage of herself “ripping a set at 5 months pregnant,” paired with a text overlay asking, “how is your 2nd trimester going?”

In another recent post, she highlighted her “muses”, female DJs who have proven it’s possible to balance motherhood and a successful music career. Among them is mom of two, Alison Wonderland, who offered her the advice: “you can do it all and if anyone doubts that they shouldn’t be in your circle.” Anna Lunoe was one of the first examples Evan saw of a DJ performing while pregnant, giving her the inspiration and confidence to believe, “I’m going to do that one day.” She also cited Icona Pop as ongoing motivation, especially an image of both members pregnant, whenever she begins to question whether it can all work.

Evan Giia has long been admired for her authenticity and willingness to be vulnerable. Now, she’s making a powerful statement for women in electronic music, proving that female DJs don’t have to choose between their careers, their passions, and starting a family.
