He contrasts quitting drugs eight years ago with the slower, more complicated process of giving up alcohol, pointing to tequila as the moment he realized his relationship with drinking had shifted. “Today marks ten months of sobriety. Ten months of not drinking a single drop of alcohol. Sometimes it was tough, but mostly it’s been amazing and I’m very happy and proud of it! I still remember how easy it was for me to stop doing drugs… Back then (I’d say around 8 years ago), I stopped from one day to another when I noticed my body reached a limit and needed rest and peace from these constant ups and downs. With alcohol it was more difficult. I never really had a drinking problem or any blackouts, up until I started drinking tequila. With this drink, there was no stopping! It almost made me feel high, and my tolerance was rising… This being said, I’m so happy I don’t need this anymore and that my creativity returned a few months into my sobriety.
