Desert Dwellers deliver a landmark Denver performance ahead of the project’s next chapter

Desert Dwellers bring a powerful, sold-out Tour stop to Denver, blending immersive sound and a heartfelt transition into a new era.

A rare and cherished presence in the electronic music world, Desert Dwellers have long captivated audiences with their deep basslines, tribal grooves, and psychedelic melodies. This past weekend, the beloved duo brought their 2025 Between Worlds Tour to Denver’s legendary Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom, offering fans not just a show but a full-bodied sonic ceremony. What unfolded was a two and a half hour set that blended swirling soundscapes, live performers, and a sense of homecoming for longtime Desert Dwellers devotees.

From the moment the music began, the room shifted. Dazzled beneath Cervantes’ colossal disco ball, fans filled the space wall to wall, drawn into an atmosphere that felt both ancient and futuristic. Desert Dwellers curated a seamless, intentional lineup featuring sets from Savej and David Starfire to set the tone for an evening rooted in movement, live instrumentation, and shared reverence for consciousness-expanding sound.

Cervantes proved the perfect vessel for the journey. The wide open dancefloor invited bodies to melt into the bass and lose themselves beneath the glow of shifting stage lights. Meanwhile, the wraparound balcony offered a panoramic view of the crowd, the performers, and the intricate visual elements that tied the night together, making it easy to appreciate the full magic of the space from above.

When Desert Dwellers finally took the stage, they guided fans through a sweeping arc of their most cherished work. Their performance was not just a DJ set, it was a multi-sensory experience. The duo paired their sonic artistry with dancers, lyra hoop performers, and more, bringing the spiritual and rhythmic essence of their music into the physical realm.

The emotional undercurrent of the night was unmistakable. Denver’s show served as the second-to-last performance of the Between Worlds Tour, the final tour that Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe would share as a touring duo after 15 years of performing across the globe.

While Amani will continue contributing behind the scenes and will make special appearances from time to time, the touring era that defined Desert Dwellers for more than a decade is nearing its end.

The next chapter begins on January 1 at Axis Novum in Los Angeles, where Desert Dwellers will ring in the new year with the debut of their newest touring member, Sarkis Mikael. Fans can expect the evolution of the Desert Dwellers’ sound to continue with this new iteration, built on the foundation Amani and Treavor have spent the last decade and a half carving into the global dance music landscape.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
