Orlando city council approves $400 million renovation for Camping World Stadium after EDC

Local Orlando officials have committed to a sweeping redesign that has reshaped the future vision for Camping World Stadium.

Orlando’s biggest party weekend just wrapped, but the city is already looking ahead. Only a few days after EDC packed out the area, the Orlando City Council approved a massive four hundred million dollar renovation for Camping World Stadium. It is the same venue that thousands of festival fans spill into every November, so the timing could not feel more on point.

The upcoming project is one of the most dramatic upgrades the stadium has ever seen. The plan includes rebuilding the seating bowls on both the north and south sides to create a more consistent and modern layout. The old bench seating will be removed and replaced with a setup that is actually comfortable for long event days.

The exterior is also getting a complete glow up. Designers are leaning into metallic finishes, sharper architectural lines and a reinforced shell built to withstand Florida’s chaotic hurricane season. It is a stylish mix of future focused design and the kind of durability the city actually needs.

Camping World Stadium will also be getting a new name once the project moves forward. The city has not revealed the upcoming naming partner, but one of the most exciting features has already been confirmed. A retractable stage pocket will be built into the south seating bowl, giving festivals and large touring productions far more flexibility and room to scale up their shows.

All these upgrades will slightly increase the stadium’s maximum capacity as well. With roughly two thousand additional seats coming in, the total will rise to just over sixty five thousand for major events. That means even more room for fans, performers and unforgettable nights.

Funding for the renovation has been fully approved, and construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026. If everything stays on track, the transformation should wrap by December 2027, which lines up perfectly with the Jacksonville Jaguars spending a temporary season in Orlando while their own stadium is under renovation.
