deadmau5 to retire iconic cube production with new live show in 2026

A decade after his last album, deadmau5’s new show signals the dawn of a visionary new chapter.

The wait is finally over for mau5heads everywhere. deadmau5 has just dropped his newest single, “Ameonna,” and confirmed that a brand-new studio album is coming in 2026. It will be his first album in ten years, following 2016’s “W:/2016ALBUM/.”

To celebrate, deadmau5 is bringing his creativity to the stage in a big way. On November 7 and 8, he’ll take over Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado for two special “day of the deadmau5” shows. Each night will feature a five-hour marathon that blends his alter ego Testpilot, brand-new music, and even a drum and bass set to close things out. This show will also mark the official retirement of his iconic Cube production, replaced by an entirely new setup packed with fresh visuals and cutting-edge tech.

Released through his label mau5trap, “Ameonna” gives fans a glimpse into what the next era will sound like: moody, immersive, and full of the signature production detail that only deadmau5 can pull off. The track itself feels like stepping into a digital dream.

It builds slowly with misty synths and crisp percussion before swelling into an emotional rush of sound. It’s instrumental, cinematic, and distinctly deadmau5. Fans can already listen to “Ameonna” online or check out the visualizer on YouTube for a full sensory experience.

Fans in Denver can also swing by the mau5hop pop-up at 95 S Cherokee Street. Open from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., the shop will feature exclusive merchandise, vinyl, and even the debut of the Atari x deadmau5 Meowingtons’ Revenge playable game cartridge. Deadmau5 himself will be there from noon to 3 p.m. for meet and greets.

After nearly a decade, deadmau5 is back and recharging his world of sound. The next chapter starts with “Ameonna,” and it already feels like something special.
