T-Pain makes his dubstep DJ debut at Lost Lands
No one saw it coming, but once it happened, it was instantly legendary: T-Pain went full bass mode at Lost Lands and crushed it.
Lost Lands is no stranger to surprise sets, but absolutely no one had “T-Pain dubstep set at The Crater” on their 2025 festival bingo card. Yet over the weekend, that’s exactly what went down. The king of R&B hooks made his bass music debut at the most chaotic and immersive stage of the festival, and fans are still trying to process it.
The Crater, Lost Lands’ brand-new 360-degree stage, is known for its deep sound design, all-encompassing visuals, and raw energy. Not exactly where you’d expect T-Pain to show up, but when he did, he brought the heat. His set wasn’t a gimmick either, it felt like a real move into the bass scene.
Following the performance, T-Pain posted: “Popped out with @bayati_music at Lost Lands and it felt like a fever dream. Been testing the waters in the world of bass since 2016 and I really want to start taking it seriously. We’re in the process of planning something really special for the community. This is just the beginning… @bassbootcamp.”
The bass community welcomed him with open arms. Subtronics commented on his post, “It was lovely to meet u!!! Truly surreal to have such a GOAT in our community, big huge gigantic ups!!!!” DJ Diesel replied, “You know what… next year B2B let’s go!” Ray Volpe simply called the moment “absolutely iconic.”
Other artists were just as excited: Riot Ten said, “NOTHING BUT YES YES YES,” Mersiv called it “sick,” Heyz welcomed him to the “wub life,” and Cyclops said, “I love this timeline.”
Fan reactions were just as intense. TikTok clips exploded with comments like “T-Pain at Crater is CRAZYYYYYY work” and “My FOMO could not have gotten any worse.” For an artist whose career has already touched R&B, rap, country, and Twitch, diving into dubstep is just another level unlocked.
