Carl Cox cancels upcoming Red Rocks show due to ‘production’ issues

Production issues have led to the preemptive cancellation of Carl Cox’s performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Carl Cox has called off his long-awaited Red Rocks Amphitheatre performance over a month before he was due to take the iconic stage set amid the mountains. Originally scheduled for October 13, 2025, the legendary DJ and producer cited production complications as the reason for the sudden cancellation. Specifically noting that the elements planned for the show did not meet the standards he prefers for his live sets.

Carl Cox’s team shared on Instagram a statement regarding their decision to cancel, writing, “After much consideration, Carl and his team have made the difficult decision to step back from this event. The production elements didn’t align as planned. And rather than compromise the quality Carl is known for, we’ve chosen to pause. All tickets will be fully refunded via AXS. Thank you for your support. We hope to see you soon. With respect, Carl Cox Team.”

The announcement quickly spread across social media, leaving fans disappointed as the date had been one of the highly anticipated bookings at the iconic Colorado venue this year. Red Rocks confirmed the cancellation on its official website. At this time, no alternative date has been announced.

The news is particularly striking given Cox’s reputation for high-quality productions and meticulous standards in both his DJ sets and hybrid live performances. His Red Rocks show was expected to follow that model, with the visual advantage of being nature’s stage. Despite the cancellation, Cox remains highly active on the live circuit. He is currently performing multiple sets across Burning Man this week, continuing his tradition of bringing marathon energy to the desert. His numerous sets on the Playa further highlight his global demand, relentless touring schedule, and dedication to his fans’ experience.
