Portola returns for 2025 with its most eclectic lineup yet

Dom Dolla, LCD Soundsystem, Anti Up, Peggy Gou, and more are set to return to San Francisco for portola’s fourth year.

Portola, San Francisco’s premier electronic music festival, is officially back and better than ever for its fourth installment. Taking place right on the water on Pier 80, the two-day event is set to take place from September 20th to 21st, 2025.

This year’s lineup features an eclectic mix of EDM heavyweights, emerging acts from multiple genres, and nostalgic favorites. Names like Mau P, Dom Dolla, Peggy Gou, and Anti Up are major draws to mainstream fans, but deeper cuts like The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, LCD Soundsystem, and The Prodigy appeal to more seasoned listeners.

It wouldn’t be Portola without a throwback pop artist, and this year, Christina Aguilera is sure to draw the masses to the Pier Stage just like Nelly Furtado and Natasha Bedingfield did before her. Other unique artists on the lineup include Blood Orange, Magdalena Bay, Haute & Freddy, Despacio, ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, Rico Nasty, Arca, Nate Sib, Kumo 99, and Ravyn Lenae.

Another exciting addition to the lineup is Despacio, a special party and auditory experience intended to preserve, promote, and celebrate the tradition of pure live music performances by focusing on the experience of the listener rather than the stage performance. Created and designed by LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, audio tech John Klett, and Jordan Acoustics, this concept features massive speakers that surround the dancefloor, powered by a DJ tucked away spinning vinyl.

Last year, I had the privilege of capturing this massive weekend for Exron, and it did not disappoint. Between engaging brand activations and art exhibits, spacious VIP areas, and a stellar lineup, it truly was my favorite weekend of the year. The waterfront location adds an extra layer of magic, with stunning views of the San Francisco Bay providing a breathtaking backdrop for the performances.

Passes are still on sale, with GA, VIP, and VIP XL options to choose from.
