Denver clubs Church and Vinyl will now require 21+ entry

The United States’ bass music capital, Denver, is moving more traditionally by raising the entry age at two popular clubs, Church and Vinyl.

As of August 1, 2025, Church Nightclub and Club Vinyl, two well-known Denver venues, will require all event attendees to be 21 years of age or older, altering the city’s bustling music scene. This was already a standard policy in many Denver clubs, such as Mission Ballroom, The Black Box, and Temple Nightclub.

This policy is already commonplace throughout the US. Previously, both venues allowed guests aged 18 to 20 to attend select weekend events, making them some of the few spots in the city offering a true club experience to younger adults.

With this policy change, all events at Church and Vinyl will now require attendees to be at least 21 years old. Venue management cites the change as a measure to ensure consistent enforcement and enhance safety across events, retiring the former age-dependent restrictions of all ages, 18+, or 21+. While the change streamlines age verification processes, it has also sparked debate within Denver’s community, particularly among younger show-goers, as Denver is a young city.

A petition urging Club Vinyl to reconsider and reinstate 18+ access on weekends has gained traction online, underscoring the significance these spaces hold for many as social hubs and safe environments for underage club-goers. However, as venue management becomes more prominent in a public safety forum, authorities will uphold the new policy despite online backlash. As the new policy takes effect, those under 21 will need to seek alternative nightlife options, as done in nearly every other club in the States, except for teen-focused clubs, which do not serve alcohol. No club of this type is open in the greater Denver area.

Patrons above the United States drinking age can expect business as usual when attending these venues. Anyone planning to catch a show at either Church or Vinyl should consult the official event pages for the most up-to-date information. However, the overall direction for Denver is ushering in a 21+ era of clubbing.
