Electric Forest 2025 has officially come and gone, but what lingers is the unmistakable glow of something greater than music. From June 19–22, Rothbury, Michigan transformed into a surreal haven of art, sound, and self-expression. Now in its twelfth edition, the beloved festival once again proved why it remains one of the most immersive events in the world.

This year’s edition was a vivid reminder that Electric Forest is more than a music festival; it’s a real-life fantasy world. As you step beyond the gates, buzzing souls welcome you with radiant smiles and warm wishes of “Happy Forest!” The energy is gentle, yet electric, with everyone glowing and laughter filling the air. It doesn’t take long before you, too, are part of the collective heartbeat that pulses through the trees.

The people make the Electric Forest experience what it is. And it shows in the creativity as campers build themed villages, dress like intergalactic elves and forest nymphs, and shower each other with compliments and connection. You meet people who embrace you fully upon first interaction, and the environment feels safe. The main plaza brims with art vendors, food trucks, and a silent disco. The Brainery offers mind-expanding workshops like “Cleanse Your Energy” and “Vision Boards with Zingara & Friends,” setting a tone of intentional celebration.

Although Friday’s storm forced a 15-minute early closure, canceling some surprise B2Bs, by Saturday, the festival reopened its gates and restored paths with impressive grace. The muddy areas were quickly treated on both the camp and festival grounds, which truly enhanced the festival experience as events went on without a hitch. 

Musically, Electric Forest 2025 delivered a kaleidoscopic journey across genres, tempos, and cultures. This year’s lineup was arguably the most diverse yet, with headliners like Justice, Tiësto, FISHER, and Khruangbin anchoring the main stages in wildly different sonic atmospheres. Whether you were dancing under glistening lasers or swaying under stars, there was a soundscape for every soul.

Among the standout moments was the thunderous Bassrush takeover at Tripolee on Saturday, which transformed the stage into a temple of bass. Heavyweights like Tape B, INFEKT, and Jon Casey ignited the crowd. Electronic trailblazers like Louis The Child, Disclosure, Liquid Stranger, Sara Landry, and Of The Trees brought fierce energy to The Ranch and Sherwood Court stages. 

Meanwhile, acts like Worship and Mochakk expanded the Forest’s sonic palette from drum & bass to Brazilian house. Surprise sets, like Levity B3B Tape B and Crankdat, sent crowds into ecstatic disbelief, followed by the return of Zeds Dead in the forest for a triumphant takeover.

There’s so much you hear about hidden gems like the Dream Emporium, the Forest Chapel, and the famous scavenger hunt, but no description rivals the real thing. Like a storybook unfolding, each room inside the Emporium revealed a different world: a glittering roller rink, a fully staged wrestling ring with live performers, secret lounges, light tunnels, and even pop-up DJ sets like the electric surprise from Gorilla T. It was not just immersive, it was interdimensional.

Sherwood Forest continues to be the festival’s pulsing heart as you immediately feel the urge to frolic about and take in the beauty that Michigan has to offer. Wind chimes sing overhead, light portals pulse with warmth, and roaming art creatures turn every path into a new myth. Stages like The Honeycomb and The Observatory seem to grow from the earth itself, weaving music and nature into a single living organism. 

At its core, Electric Forest isn’t just a festival; it’s a mirror of human joy. Strangers become besties, creativity becomes currency, and the energy becomes infectious. The lineup dazzled, the art inspired, and the people reminded us what it means to live in the present moment amid some of the most incredible live music. That’s why recurring attendees return year after year. Because for four fleeting days in Michigan, the Electric Forest family remembers how magical the world can be.
