GRiZ celebrates 20 weeks sober as he prepares for his return this fall

GRiZ has focused on himself and his health during his hiatus, leading up to a new slate of live shows later this year.

GRiZ has celebrated 20 weeks sober as he prepares for his return this fall. Posting on his Instagram story, the American DJ has shed some insight into his decision to stop drinking. In truth, this sobriety has come only as a hiatus, and he doesn’t believe it will last forever.

Following his intuition, the DJ has simply made the decision to pause drinking for the time being. Given GRiZ hasn’t done a live show since 2023, this lifestyle change has probably aligned with a refocusing of his priorities. In the picture below, the artist has plastered a huge smile on his face, indicating more or less that he’s happy where he is. 

As mentioned, this series of posts has come at the brink of his long-anticipated return. Given what seems like a content state of mind, GRiZ has made fans all the more eager for live shows once more. Undoubtedly, the Michigan-born DJ has planned an ecstatic setlist this fall. 

Starting in October, he is set to perform at the Seven Stars Festival in Arrington, Virginia. Following that, organizers have put up two shows (Chicago and Daly City) in late October and early November. Named ‘Re:Connect,’ the shows have already built up quite a level of excitement. 

GRiZ has made music for nearly a decade and a half, impressing on the EDM scene with his distinct style. He has played at a variety of high-caliber shows and festivals like Coachella, Electric Forest, and Lollapalooza. Moreover, he has made himself a very sought-after collaborator.

GRiZ has collaborated with heavyweights like Subtronics, John Summit, Zeds Dead, and many more. Hopefully, in the near future, fans will be reintroduced to the depth of GRiZ with his impending return. For the moment, all one can hope for is his continued success with sobriety and a new slate of music.
