Dennis Cruz launches new label and event series BotaniQ

Spanish house legend Dennis Cruz has unveiled his latest creative venture: his new label and international event series, BotaniQ.

Dennis Cruz has announced the launch of his record label and global event series BotaniQ, marked by releasing a two-track EP, ‘Way Back.’ Cruz is widely celebrated as one of the most influential figures in the underground house and tech house scenes. Nonetheless, this fresh project signals a bold new chapter for the artist.

BotaniQ is a concept that fuses music with the natural world. Cruz describes the project as “an idea that has no boundaries,” allowing him to display all his musical influences without confining himself to a single genre. The vision extends beyond the studio to the dancefloor, with BotaniQ’s events designed to focus on music and community. The series will debut with a launch party at Lofi Courtyard in Amsterdam on May 29, 2025.

The inaugural Way Back EP sets the tone for BotaniQ, delivering two groove-heavy tracks, “Way Back” and “Fabulous.” Undoubtedly, the EP encapsulates Cruz’s signature deep, rolling energy into a sexy two-track package. Moreover, the release has already garnered praise from industry heavyweights like Marco Carola and Jamie Jones, reflecting the lively and dynamic sound that has made Cruz a staple globally.

Dennis Cruz’s journey to this point has been nothing short of impressive. Born in Madrid in 1983, he began DJing at 17 while studying sound engineering. Cruz quickly built a reputation for his unique blend of tech house, techno, funk, dub, and Latin influences. Over the past decade, he’s racked up numerous Beatport #1s, was named Beatport’s 3rd Best Tech House Artist, and has received accolades such as Best Producer at the DJ Awards 2017.

Cruz is synonymous with his work on labels like Solid Grooves, Crosstown Rebels, and his own MÜSE imprint. Furthermore, his electrifying sets have graced clubs and festivals from Ibiza’s DC-10 to Tomorrowland. BotaniQ’s launch also follows a whirlwind year for Cruz, including a Coachella return, several high-profile shows, and sold-out GOLFOS events with PAWSA.

Cruz aims to curate experiences in open-air and unconventional venues, featuring a handpicked roster of collaborators for future Botaniq releases. The ‘Way Back’ EP is out now via BotaniQ on all platforms. The launch party on May 29th will certainly be as legendary as Dennis Cruz himself, so don’t miss out! Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 12 consecutive years (still counting). As an avid traveler, I'm definitely not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My current bucket list festivals right now are Tomorrowland in Belgium, Cercle Festival in France, Kappa Futur in Italy, and Sonus in Croatia. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists are Franky Wah, BICEP, Cassian, and Mochakk.
