Oscar-winning composers and industrial rock pioneers Nine Inch Nails, led by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, have officially been announced as the masterminds behind the soundtrack for Disney’s upcoming Tron: Ares — the long-awaited continuation of the high-concept sci-fi franchise.

The news electrifies a fanbase still buzzing from the sonic legacy left by Daft Punk, whose acclaimed score for 2010’s Tron: Legacy elevated the film into cult-classic territory. With Reznor and Ross now stepping into the digital realm, anticipation is at an all-time high for what’s shaping up to be a bold evolution of the Tron soundscape.
