Legendary British DJ/producer skream has shared news of his engagement after proposing to his long-time girlfriend.

Skream has announced his engagement to his girlfriend of eight years, Chloe Anderson. Skream (real name Oliver Jones) shared the joyful news in a heartfelt Instagram post. The photo carousel of the couple in Paris reads, “8 years later and she said yes again…. Lucky, lucky me…. ❤️”.

A pioneering figure in the UK’s dubstep scene, Skream rose to prominence in the mid-2000s with his ground-breaking productions and collaborations. His early works cemented his reputation as a genre-defining artist. Over the years, he has continued to evolve, branching into house and techno while maintaining his signature style. Nonetheless, he has remained true to his roots, recently releasing his first dubstep album in 10 years ‘Skreamizm 8’.

The engagement marks a moment of happiness for Skream after a challenging period. Skream continues to mourn the loss of his best friend and fellow DJ Jackmaster, who passed away earlier this year. Jackmaster, whose real name was Jack Revill, was a close collaborator and friend, and his unexpected passing has deeply affected the underground dance music community.

The pair were known for their shared passion for house, techno, and bass-driven music, and their influence shaped the sound of modern club culture. Known for his candor on social media about his sobriety journey, Skream has dedicated several emotional posts to his friend. Reflecting on their time together in and out of the studio, these posts have given fans a window into his soul.

Their relationship undoubtedly remains a steady source of support for the DJ, particularly in the wake of this loss.

As Skream and Chloe move forward into this new chapter, their engagement serves as encouragement during a particularly tough year. From personal loss to newfound love, he is undoubtedly embracing life with resilience and gratitude. Congratulations to the new couple from the Exron team!

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 12 consecutive years (still counting). As an avid traveler, I'm definitely not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My current bucket list festivals right now are Tomorrowland in Belgium, Cercle Festival in France, Kappa Futur in Italy, and Sonus in Croatia. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists are Franky Wah, BICEP, Cassian, and Mochakk.
