EDSea forced to close stage and return to Miami due to a medical emergency on board
Insomniac’s EDSea shut down their main stage and returned to port briefly on day three of the cruise festival due to a medical emergency.
This past weekend, Insomniac’s cruise festival EDSea set sail for four days of raving on the high seas. But day three of the festival hit some unexpected turbulence when its Norwegian Joy ship had to return to Miami due to a medical emergency on board. The main stage also shut down for this brief return to port while the situation was dealt with.
No official statement has been made by EDSea or Insomniac as of yet, so any information about the incident has been gleaned from the social media posts of those in attendance. One user on X, @moderatelymoist, posted a video of their view of the medical personnel from the side of the ship while it was in port. The caption read, “Back in Miami briefly due to a medical emergency. Staff member said they’ve had 4 serious medical emergencies today.”
A user on Tik Tok, @kelseeyou, posted a video of the message that was shared to fans at the main stage: “We are briefly returning to Miami for a medical incident. All outdoor programming will resume after we leave the port.” This user later posted another video explaining that the outdoor main stage was closed for three hours while the indoor stages remained open, and a third video clarifying that no one died as a result of the medical emergency.
No confirmation from Insomniac about the medical emergency has been released thus far. Despite this unfortunate incident, it appears the rest of the EDSea weekend went well with minimal interruption to the good times aboard the Norwegian Joy.
