Sofi Tukker brings biggest live show yet to Los Angeles
NYC-based duo Sofi Tukker has performed their biggest show to date in the city of angels.
Sofi Tukker, a.k.a. Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, have brought their BREAD Tour to the Torch in Los Angeles for their biggest show to date. The duo’s album ‘BREAD,’ released August 23rd, stands for “Be Really Energetic And Dance”. It foreshadows a tour filled with high energy and a remarkably unique experience.
Known for their tropical and dynamic tracks like ‘Purple Hat’ and ‘Best Friend’, the ‘BREAD’ album does not fall short of fans expectations. With influences from their mutual love for Brazilian culture and electronic music, they create catchy beats and empowering lyrics. This album is a true dance experience they get to share with everyone who attends their shows.
Sofi Tukker united at University, and has had musical chemistry ever since. They debuted in 2016 with their single “Drinkiee” and are known to bring high energy to their performances. Their first release received a Grammy nomination, which has set the tone for what is to come.
Their studies have played a part in their fan base, as the duo is known for mixing bilingual lyrics. Catering to audiences outside of English natives, they also built a strong online presence during the lockdown in 2019. They made hosting daily live streams a priority and found a fun way to connect with many around the world during this time of isolation.
Soon, after their debut single, the pair released their first EP ‘Soft Animals’, honing in on their place in the music scene. Later, in 2019, Sofi Tukker released their debut album ‘Treehouse’. This was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
Now, Sofi Tukker is touring the States as well as Europe with their latest album ‘BREAD’, with dates throughout the end of this year. Do not miss the chance to experience this one-of-a-kind performance by the duo while they’re still on the rise. Tickets are still available on their website.
