1. David Guetta
Starting with one of the most well-known worldwide artists, David Guetta has been making his mark since the early 80’s. With over 40 years in the industry, he started in the Paris club scene and made his way to headlining renowned festivals like Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and many more. He is also known for working with a multitude of acclaimed artists like Rihanna, Usher, and Sia to name a few. Not only is he a Grammy nominee and winner, but he’s also providing more exposure to the EDM scene by catering to a wider audience, specifically those who typically listen to pop music.
2. DJ SNAKE
Pivoting to another major influential artist, DJ SNAKE is known for his blend of EDM with elements of hip-hop, trap, and reggaeton. Originally from Paris, he’s well known for his single “Turn Down For What” featuring Lil Jon and ‘Lean On’ ft. Major Lazer. Known for curating tracks with high energy and catchy hooks, this DJ and producer also plays at major music festivals like Coachella and Ultra and has received many nominations throughout his career.
3. DAFT PUNK
Third, Daft Punk also holds a high ranking in the French EDM music scene. Gaining recognition in the late ’90s, this iconic duo blends elements of disco, house, and funk. Hits from the early 2000s like “One More Time” and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” further accelerated the duo’s success, creating a loyal following and several Grammy Awards. Sadly, the duo split ways in 2021 but their legacy remains.
4. JUSTICE
Doubling on the duos, Justice made their way in 2007 with their self-named debut album ‘Justice’. The album features an impressive blend of electronic-heavy synths, electric rock, and disco. In 2009, they received a Grammy for ‘Best Remixed Dance Recording’ and are known for their involvement and leadership in the “French Touch” movement.
5. STARDUST
Stardust’s legendary house single “Music Sounds Better with You,” is the only record released by the trio to this day. Originally released in the late 90s, the group received recognition and their hit was named one of the “greatest dance songs” by numerous publications.
