Disclosure drops new single ‘Arachnids’ with music video co-directed by Porter Robinson

A bold leap into new depths, “Arachnids” showcases Disclosure’s fearless exploration of uncharted musical territory with Porter Robinson by their side.

Disclosure recently released “Arachnids,” which dives into an experimental realm that showcases the duo’s creative edge, moving away from the polished beats of past hits like “Latch.” Released on October 25 via Warehouse Project Records and Capitol Records, “Arachnids” is a cinematic, genre-blurring track that Guy Lawrence and Howard Lawrence describe as a “creative puzzle.” And the perfect twist includes Porter Robinson co-directing this masterpiece’s music video.

Unlike Disclosure’s chart-toppers, this track isn’t designed to be a sing-along. Instead, it unfolds and expresses like a diary of sound evolution. It pushes the limits of simplicity and complexity in a thrilling 10-minute journey.

The music video, co-directed by Porter Robinson’s UNCANNY, enhances the track’s intense energy by focusing on raw reactions from fans at Venue MOT in London. It has graphic-heavy visuals and intricate close-ups of club-goers lost in the sound, the video goes between their expressions and close-ups, adding a surreal touch. This visual pairing underscores the otherworldly feel of “Arachnids” as both the music and visuals seem to tap into something mystical and unspoken.

This release arrives just as Disclosure sets the stage for their Friends & Family show at Manchester’s Warehouse Project last week. It promised an immersive experience that brought together the duo’s community with acts like Floating Points and DJ BORING. Disclosure is known for their dynamic live shows and their new work continues to expand their musical boundaries while keeping fans exhilarated.

“Arachnids” comes hot on the heels of their recent collaboration “in2minds” with Chris Lake, a track celebrated by DJ Mag, Stereogum, and Rolling Stone, who named it one of their “Songs You Need to Know.” In recent months, Disclosure has dominated festivals like III Points and CRSSD, while “She’s Gone, Dance On,” their hypnotic summer hit, gained traction on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

Whether crafting pop-friendly anthems or moody instrumental odysseys, Disclosure continues to push electronic music forward, embracing new sounds and aesthetics that captivate both casual listeners and hardcore fans alike. “Arachnids” reaffirms that Disclosure is far from done redefining electronic music.
